This is a free course from Esri, you must have an Esri user ID to utilize this course. You must have ArcGIS 10.1 or higher and PythonWin 2.7 installed on your computer. PythonWin 2.7 should have been installed when ArcGIS was set-up, but if not this the installation is part of the lesson. You must have administrative rights on your computer to successfully do an installation.
There is an exam at the end that leads to an Esri Certificate if you score 80%.

Concepts:
- Comments, using the pound sign (#) as the first character in a line, all items on the line will be a comment and not be executed in the running of the program. You should use lots of comment statements to better understand what you are doing both for editing purposes, but also so that it easy to modify code in the future. Your name and organization should be in the comments.
- Python code is case sensitive.
- Anything contained inside of a set of double (" ") or single (' ') quotation marks are strings, commonly thought of as text.
- A variable is a place holder for information. Make sure that variable names are descriptive (addressNumber, streetName, zipCode). Note the usage of both upper and lower case characters in the name, this is called camel case.
